Sacred Woodworking
Built with faith
and hand
Every altar, crucifix, and kneeler that leaves this shop is built with patience, skill, and a deep respect for what it will be used for.

Your church deserves
something made with care
Mark has spent years working with wood, learning how it moves, what it can do, and how to make it last. When a church or parish needs something built, he doesn't just follow a spec. He thinks about the people who will kneel there, the hands that will rest on that communion rail, and the congregation that will look up at that crucifix every Sunday for the next fifty years. That kind of responsibility matters to him, and you can see it in every piece he delivers.

How It Works
A simple, honest process
from start to finish
We Have a Conversation
You tell Mark what your church or chapel needs, and he listens. He'll ask good questions and give you honest answers. There's no pressure and no sales pitch.
Design and Estimate
Mark puts together a design and a fair price so you can see exactly what you're getting before any wood is cut.
The Build
This is where the real work happens. Careful, patient craftsmanship with no shortcuts. Mark keeps you updated along the way so there are never any surprises.
Delivery and Installation
Mark delivers and installs every piece himself. He's not finished until you're happy and everything is exactly right.
"When I'm building something for a church, I think about my own family sitting in that pew. That's the standard I hold everything to. If it's not good enough for them, it's not leaving the shop."

About
Meet Mark
Mark is a woodworker. That's the simplest and most honest way to put it. He builds things with his hands and he always has. What started as a way to make a living turned into something deeper over the years, and now every kitchen he builds and every altar he delivers has a piece of him in it.
He's a family man first. The business exists to support the people he loves, and that's why he takes every job personally. When he builds something for your home or your church, he holds it to the same standard he would if he were building it for his own family.
Joseph's Custom Woodworks is based in Rochester, Minnesota and serves communities across southern Minnesota and into northern Iowa. Mark handles every project himself, from the first phone call to the final installation. When you work with him, you're not talking to a salesperson. You're talking to the person who is going to build it.
